The problem

An Android device can serve as a dedicated operator panel if it maintains a focused interface and receives data from multiple nodes.

Solution and data flow

The application combines a kiosk interface, launcher and background services. A TCP server accepts concurrent clients with per-client workers, parses JSON telemetry and forwards connection events and readings to the UI and diagnostic log.

Implementation and challenges

The project includes boot handling, screen wake behavior, network controls and client status. It targets Android 6.0; network operations depend on device permissions and system setup. The implemented work is an application and operator panel, not a new kernel or operating system.

Skills developed

Android lifecycle management, bound and background services, concurrent TCP sockets, JSON telemetry, event-driven UI updates and kiosk design.
